Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 2.80 g, 5 h), a contemporary plated imitation of an issue from Lugdunum, uncertain mint, after 11 BC. AVGVSTVS DIVI•F Laureate head of Augustus to right. Rev. IMP•XII / SICIL Diana, as huntress, advancing to right, wearing polos on head, drawing arrow from quiver with her right hand and holding bow with her left. Cf. BMC 490, Cohen 172 and RIC 197b (for prototype). Breaks in plating, with minor scrapes and light scratches, otherwise, about very fine.
